My background is e-commerce. I was working for an affiliate marketing company 14 years and then that company was acquired in 2017 and then Deb and I are we’re related somewhat like we’re in-laws, right? We share the same father-in-law and our father-in-law had Packer’s Pine under the umbrella of his other main company and it was sitting there for a long time over 20 years. So then the plan was when I was done with my previous career that I would jump in and try to make it go with Packers and kind of revive it and get it, you know, back to where it needs to be. So that’s what I did and I came on board and then I, you know, immediately focused on Amazon and cleaned things up on there and then created a website and, you know, did all the uh stuff that’s needed for e-commerce and then Deb came on board in what 2020 21 Deb 21 I think. Yep. we’ve been able to focus a little more on website sales and and that’s when we decided like next step would be to contact Damon and then the website was just nice design and everything and it was converting we just didn’t have traffic so I was pretty familiar with SEO from my previous career I could never do it like SEO national does but I got connected with Damon through a friend from my previous career Packers Pine was established in 1869 it’s one of the oldest continuously marketed companies in the world. It’s
been uh marketed since for over 150 years. So it was established by Daniel F. Packer. So he was really the first one to use Pinear as like kind of like the main ingredient in the soap. So became really popular and they even became like an international company within I think like two or three years.
We sell soap, shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. And it’s um made with plant-based ingredients. And our main ingredient, pine tar, and pine oil. And both are very effective for everyday cleansing and deodorizing and even helps with skin conditions and dry skin, eczema, stuff like that. We use premium grade pine tar and pine oil. And just so they can call it a pine tar soap, we actually add meaningful amounts and that makes it very effective. We are the original.
We are the original, the OG. So, we knew the next step was just to gain traffic and one of the best ways to do that is is through SEO. And so, I was referred to to SEO National and we had a, you know, a call with his team and and they also, you know, gave us an idea, hey, this is a, you know, it’s more of a long-term process. You’re going to see some, you know, pick up in traffic right away. You also have to give us some time because it is more of a longterm process and it kind of builds on itself as you gain more traction with Google and and all the content. We’ve definitely moved up in a lot of the keyword rankings in the search engines, the first one or even two pages on Google on those search results. And um I would say after 2 or 3 months, we were already getting on, you know, the first page and some of our keywords even move up to the top spot, number one spot. When we um first tried to get in contact with SEO National, when Dave’s friend connected us, SEO National took a quick look at our website and just in a few minutes, they gave us significant things to change and it was little things that we just didn’t even know what to change and it made a huge difference in the long run. I think all the outreach content that they were doing really helped all the original content that they were coming up with, making it more interesting to read about and that helped a lot. They don’t just talk about Packer’s Pine. It’s not just all about us. I mean, they’re also trying to create content that’s going to be helpful to the, you know, the person reading it, but they also talk about other ways, which I think is great, you know, cuz it’s not just focus on us.
They talk about other things you can do to, you know, when you go out camping in the woods in addition to using packers, you know, do this as well. And there are other things you can use beside DE that’s really bad for you. It’s, you know, a horrible chemical that’s not really good for you. You don’t want to put it on your kids and stuff like that.
They just really come up with great ways to make interesting content and they inject some humor in all their articles. It’s really just amazing what they can do as well. If you’re going to micromanage us, then if that’s your style, then you probably don’t want to hire SEO National. Like, we just don’t recommend it. If that’s your style,
that’s okay. That’s how you are and that’s what works best for you, fine.
But you’re going to have to find someone else. And I immediately like that because I am I hate micromanaging and I hate to be micromanaged like most people do. Immediately right there, I was like, “Okay, we are we’re on the same page on this one.” And I basically promised SEO National. I said, “Look, I will be your easiest client. If you guys do what you say you’re going to do, I can promise you I will leave you alone. You won’t hear from me. You won’t hear from Deb. And we’ll just let you guys, you know, run with it and do your thing.” And that’s really how it’s worked out. It’s been just like that. And sometimes they have a question, they need, you know, something from us. They need us to approve an article and that’s it. if I see like a a typo or something really small, that’s all it really has been as far as like corrections and then I just say, “Hey, you guys are the experts. You know, I’ll defer to you on this one. If they have a question about, you know, which way do I want to go?” I’ll say, “I defer to you guys. You guys have been doing this for a long time and that’s why I hired you.” So, communication has been outstanding. There was something that came up with with uh Google. I had an issue and I I contacted them and I heard back within an hour and we got it resolved and everything’s fine. that when the team sends us a video sometimes to explain where we are in the ranking and they send a quick video to help us really understand for someone that doesn’t really understand from the beginning. Dave has more of a background in it, but it’s really helpful to me.
And then also they ask that we read the articles quickly and get them approved and send them back. And I think the team, you know, they send them in enough time that we have time to look them over and get them approved quickly. And I think it’s worked out really well. I’m a aware of a couple other companies out there that I could have contacted, but I would have if it didn’t go so well in the beginning with them and I also the colleague that I used to work with that referred me to SEO National I just trust them so much that I knew that I was in the right place and talking to the right team. I just really thought we both kind of like had the same energy and same thought process on how this should go down and expectations were set that were totally realistic. they weren’t trying to make, you know, overpromise and anything and they just, it was just great working with them. And then as soon as I saw the first couple um sample articles they sent over to review, I was like knew right away I’m like, these guys, they get it. Like they know how to write. Like I’ve learned things from reading the articles that they write.
They’re not just fluff articles just to kind of like make Google happy. They’re really just good, interesting articles that you can learn something from and and benefit from. So that’s what I really love about them and I think that’s their edge. Like they just there’s no BS and they just write the articles and say do what they’re going
to they say they’re going to do and they do it really well. I like this about all companies that I work with and you know Deb and I both try to do this. We try to
find agencies and companies that really focus on one particular skill set. So, I like the fact that they focus on SEO and that’s what they do and that’s all they do and they don’t try to branch out and be the jack of all trades and do, you know, social media and we also do affiliate marketing. They do SEO and they do it better than anyone else in my opinion.
