Reasons Not to Hire Us
If this is too much to ask, we understand and appreciate the honesty, but are not a good fit.
You’re hiring an agency, not an employee
Unsolicited guidance is not productive. If you want to micro-manage, do not hire us. We are specialists, and you are engaging for that expertise. As an agency, we are not available after hours, weekends or holidays. We don’t engage via text messaging. Personal phone numbers are reserved for friends and family only.
You’re paying for implementation, not training
We are not hired to train or consult staff or other agencies. Unless there’s a lack of confidence or trust, implementation is what’s being paid for, not training or logging. We will not send time logs or audits of every move. Working with “backseat drivers” is not a productive engagement.
SEO is not a quick fix
Successful campaigns are strategic and take time. Businesses in a rush or still in discovery phase, which may result in premature pivots, are not productive for SEO. SEO takes months/years to drive a return. If you’re not willing to commit or are still figuring out value propositions, it’s best to wait on investing in SEO.
We don’t do excessive meetings
We focus on what’s important, not “urgent.” Status updates are sent proactively. Meetings about meetings are the result of poor management. We don’t have poor management so we don’t do excessive meetings.
We avoid shiny objects
There are countless sources of “how to do SEO” online that we don’t need to be forwarded. We’re good at what we do, and it’s best to not “drown in opportunity” by reading the latest corner-cutting hacks. Once the campaign launches we determine a path to success and stick to it. If emotional or knee-jerk reactions to trends are likely, we’re not a good fit because continuous changes prevent progress.
If hesitant about website being edited, content being created, or lack of time approving content.
The nature of optimizing a website requires edits to be made and content created. There is no way around this
“New Sheriff Syndrome”
Among the most detrimental circumstances we’ve seen over the decades is “new sheriffs” joining a team and derailing momentum. Understandably, Customer’s staff may change. We’re happy to update points of contact, but that does not mean we change strategies because of new points of contact or changes in designs or marketing initiatives. We are not HR. It is not our responsibility to bring new hires up to speed or transfer knowledge from terminated team members. Customer accepts that responsibility, or may request a bid from Company for added consulting.
