Bing to Release “Product Ads”

bing product shopping

Over the last year, Google has converted free listings to paid listings, like their Shopping/Product placements. From a business side, you can’t blame them. They’ve made a killing. It looks that Bing will shortly be following suit. Bing recently announced the following.

“We are preparing to offer a new search ad format in the U.S., Product Ads, which allows retail advertisers to include product details such as image, price, description, and merchant information within the ad.”

It sounds like this new search feature is expected to launch Summer 2013. E-commerce businesses are encouraged to start staging their API’s or contacting their shopping cart developers to be ready to integrate. That gives you a couple of months to get your product feeds ready for instant traction in Bing’s new product placements feature.
